“There are a lot of things that are out of control and there is a lot that needs to be addressed,” the source told Politico.
“I think you need to get a lot more involved in these cases.
The courts are really a mess, the police are really out of touch with people, and the entire state of California is just not cooperating with what’s going on.”
The source said it is also time for legislators to take the lead and act on the recommendations of their own police chiefs, who have called for more oversight and accountability from law enforcement.
“They need to have a real, serious conversation with their police chiefs and ask, what is the law of detachment?” the source said.
“What is the statute that governs the use of force, the use or the commission of a crime?”
